Steve Heimoff Book Signing at Fog Crest Vineyard

Steve Heimoff Book Signing at Fog Crest Vineyard

We are happy and honored to announce that Steve Heimoff, renowned writer, blogger and wine critic, will be joining us for “First Friday” on October 3, 2014.

A few months ago, as I was choosing wine related books for our tasting room, I came across “A Wine Journey along the Russian River”, written by Steve Heimoff . Well, naturally, the title caught my attention and I began to read…..

“The world possesses many great wine rivers that have writ their legends large in the epochal story of wine and the vine: the Loire, the Rhine and Mosel, the Rhône, the Dordogne and Garonne, the Saône, the Douro. Among this exalted company, the Russian River deserves a place.”

The book goes on to describe theories on how the area was geologically created, which is a lot more fascinating that it seems it should be. Once the lay of the land is explained, Mr. Heimoff proceeds to tell the story of the wine of the Russian River through enlightening interviews with many of the persistent and talented visionaries that saw in this land the possibilities for greatness. It is through their eyes and myriad perspectives that we come to intimately know this wine river area that is the Russian River Valley.

Mr. Heimoff will be joining us for “First Friday” on Friday, October 3 to share his thoughts on writing the book, regale us with some of his Russian River experiences and sign books, available for purchase that night. We invite you to experience the journey for yourself as we launch our Fog Crest Vineyard Book Club with Mr. Heimoff’s book as our first read!

Per our usual “First Friday” format, we’ll have one of our favorite food trucks, Ultra Crepes, on hand preparing both sweet and savory crepes for you to purchase to enjoy with your wine tasting. We expect a larger than usual turnout for this special “First Friday”, so we encourage you to RSVP as soon as possible by reserving here or calling our tasting room at 707/829-2006. There is no fee to attend event. (Wine tasting, food and books available for purchase) Event time: 5-8PM

As for our book club, we thought it would be great fun to suggest a food and/or wine related book to read together, virtually, every couple of months. The books will be available for purchase here in the tasting room for your convenience, but through the wonder of the internet we can share our thoughts and discuss each book via our social media channels with our friends all over the country. More details on the Fog Crest Vineyard Book club will be available soon.
