2018 Vineyard Selection Pinot Noir

Our Vineyard Selection Pinot Noir offers generous aromas of Hawthorne and bourgeons de Cassis. On the palate, flavors of licorice complemented by notes of roasted and meaty character. Well integrated and structured tannins are perfectly balanced by the wine's fresh acidity. The finish has excellent length and complexity.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Our vineyard soils are dominated by the Wilson Grove formation, a sandstone ridge whose fine-grained marine sandstone soils are highly prized by ultra-premium winemakers. The Estate Vineyard is perfectly situated to take advantage of the regions cool coastal fog intrusions. The classic Goldridge soils, the vineyard's rolling hills and a south-eastern exposure combine to impart great depth, complexity and character to our Estate Wines.
Other Notes
Two-Thousand-Eighteen was despite a warm February, a cooler growing season in comparison to the previous few seasons. A cooler spring meant bloom lasted longer than usual, but the fruit set was consistent. Summer temperatures were moderate, with fewer heat spikes than in recent years. Veraison started later as well. Yields varied depending on site, variety, and clone but were above average.
