Vintage Notes
The 2009 growing season was memorable for its ideal, long growing season. A warmer end to winter led to an early bud break. Early bud break is always cause for concern, but luckily frost was not an issue. Spring rolled into a cooler than normal summer. No heat spikes of any duration allowed the grapes to develop fully ripened flavors and good texture. The 2009 Laguna West Chardonnay vintage possesses amazing depth, great structure and a wonderful sense of place.
Tasting Notes
Nose: A melange of fruit aromas starting with citrus zest, pear and honey notes. After a slight pause and two swirls of the glass, citrus fades into nectarines, spice, and a hint of white pepper.
Flavors: Flavors quickly fill the pallette with hints of lemon peel and spice–with viscous mid pallette of creme custard. While mouth filling, the wine finishes with great length adn smooth precise acidity.
